butterfly kohaku

Butterfly Kohaku (紅白 (kōhaku, “red and white”)) is a variety of ornamental koi fish (carp). The Butterfly Kohaku has a white (shiro) body, with red (aka) markings, or ‘hi’, across the body. The Butterfly Kohaku is one of the gosanke; the ‘Big Three’, consisting of Butterfly Kohaku, Butterfly Sanke, and Butterfly Showa.

Of all the koi fish varieties the Butterfly Kohaku stands above them all as king of the koi. This regal fish was the first variety of koi fish to be developed

For me I think butterfly kohaku koi fish is a product of cross breeding a kohaku to butterfly koi fish then cross beeding and backcross the offspring to populate a stable strain of butterfly kohaku koi fish
